About Ricegrowers’ Association of Australia

The RGA is the collective voice of rice growers in Australia

Rice production is one of the most important agricultural activities on the planet – more than half the people in the world eat rice at least once a day. In Australia we can produce enough rice annually to feed more than 20 million people, 365 days a year. Australian growers can produce more rice per hectare than anywhere else in the world, and lead the world in water use efficiency. From paddock to plate, Australian grown rice uses 50 percent less water than the global average

The Ricegrowers' Association of Australia (RGA) represents more than 1200 voluntary members, serving the interests of rice growers, and providing benefits  to members, to ensure they can provide a legacy for their children, create employment in their districts and grow quality rice.

The RGA ensures its members have strong and effective representation on issues affecting the viability and sustainability of their businesses, the industry and their regional communities.  The main policy focus areas are Water, Farm Business and Productivity, Industry Affairs and Environmental Sustainability.
